DIY Painted Flower Pots
O.k. I know it is Fall now, with winter (ack) quickly approaching. And, I think that it is the perfect time for these lovely, summer flower pots. The sherbet and pastel colors with the bright silver just makes me smile as I think of summer warmth.
This project is so easy, it only requires some Krylon Silver Spray Paint, terra cotta flower pots and waterproof sealer, I use Krylon Crystal Clear Finish.
First, I cleaned the terra cotta flower pots. You can sand them at this point, if you do not want any of the lumps and bumps, or seams that may be on the pots. The flower containers are then spray painted along the rim and the inside of the rim with several coats of the Krylon Silver Spray Paint.
Next, I used some lovely spring paint colors to paint the bottom of the flower pots. Some people use masking tape to mask off the silver. I found it difficult to get the masking tape to follow the circular like of the flower pot rim, so I painted the bottom of the pot free-hand.
After 2 coats of the desired colored paint dries, I coated the flower pots with Krylon Crystal Clear Finish.

Really that is it! They are just so lovely and simple. I used these flower pots in my hangings planters – the sherbet colors have a nice contrast with the black leather and silver charms and beads.
